Leadership

Cathy Chinn is a seasoned technology professional, applications software developer, computer systems project manager, and non-profit executive manager.  Cathy received her BS in Mathematics from Oregon State University and MBA from the University of Michigan.   Cathy also has extensive nonprofit management training, including a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Portland State University.  For over 30 years, she has focused her work in technology delivery, database software applications development, project management and executive leadership.   She started her career in Michigan working with the largest corporations, and over the years, she was employed or has consulted with organizations spanning from the very small businesses to the largest Fortune 500 Companies.

Since returning to Oregon, Cathy established strong roots in the community and developed a very strong preference for serving the civic and non-profit sectors.  While working with her clients, she began collaborating with many civic and community organizations that would later seek her services as volunteer consultant, committee and board member, and executive leadership.  She appreciates the opportunities and the satisfactions of serving in this capacity.

For two decades, she has gained nonprofit training, hands-on management and operational experiences by volunteering for both funders and nonprofit organizations, and generously contributing her time and talents to help support and strengthen many nonprofit organizations.  Upon reflection and realization that working to improve the community and people’s lives is what gives her the most satisfactions, she refocused her professional work in strategy development, project management and consulting services with the mission of helping to bring resources to enhance the well-being of our community and members.
